The FDA launches a major year-end event for 2025 to promote a new campaign. "Eat Well, Change Life" Transforming Thai health to fight against "Non-communicable chronic diseases"
On 12 Dec 2025, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced its readiness to host the major annual event "Healthier Choice Expo" from 19-21 Dec 2025 at Impact Exhibition Hall 8, Muang Thong Thani. Collaborating with health network partners and businesses, the event promotes consuming foods that are "lower in sugar, fat, and salt" aiming to reduce the persistent problem of non-communicable chronic diseases (NCDs) in Thailand.
Pharmacist Suphattra Boonserm, FDA Secretary-General, revealed that the incidence of NCDs such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases is continuously rising in Thailand. The primary causes are unhealthy lifestyles and inappropriate dietary habits.
The FDA has proactively partnered with Mahidol University to develop the "Healthier Choice" nutrition symbol as a tool to help consumers select products with appropriate levels of sugar, fat, and sodium, alongside communication efforts to enable people to choose more nutritious food products for themselves and their families.
The Healthier Choice Expo, organized by the FDA from 19-21 Dec 2025 at Impact Exhibition Hall 8, Muang Thong Thani, aims to provide the public with accurate health information and easier access to healthier food products marked with the "Healthier Choice" nutrition symbol. This symbol assists consumers in selecting products verified to contain suitable amounts of sugar, fat, and sodium. The event represents a step forward in building a stronger Thai society, reducing NCD risks, and improving people's quality of life.
Over the three-day event, numerous key activities will allow visitors to learn about and purchase healthier product options, including:
It is believed this event will be an important starting point for changing Thai behaviors toward greater health awareness by choosing nutritionally appropriate foods and living higher-quality lives. The public and all health enthusiasts are warmly invited to join in building a healthier society together.
