Check PM 2.5 Dust Levels in Bangkok This Morning: Air Quality at Moderate Level

Updated PM 2.5 dust levels in Bangkok this morning show that all monitored areas are within standards, with most air quality ratings at a moderate level.

On 22 December 2025, the Bangkok Air Quality Information Center reported the PM 2.5 dust situation from Bangkok's air quality monitoring stations at 07:00, with a 24-hour average PM2.5 concentration of 19.1-36.5 micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m³). All monitored areas were within the standard limit (not exceeding 37.5 µg/m³). The air quality index from Bangkok's monitoring stations mostly indicated moderate air quality.

The Meteorological Department forecasts cool weather in Bangkok during the morning.

Regarding related factors (weather conditions affecting PM 2.5 levels), on 22 December 2025, air ventilation is classified as "poor," while the near-surface atmosphere is closed with strong winds, so dust concentration is expected to be moderate to good. On 23-24 December, ventilation remains "poor" with light winds, so dust concentration is expected to be moderate to high before starting to decrease again from 25 December onward. The forecast for today includes cool mornings.

Satellite hotspot data from NASA showed no abnormal heat spots or high surface temperature readings over the Bangkok area.

The Environment Office has coordinated with all relevant agencies to intensify implementation of the dust reduction action plan to mitigate PM 2.5 severity and its potential health impacts. They invite public and sector participation by encouraging behavior changes and reducing activities that generate dust to minimize health effects. The "5 Ways to Reduce Dust You Can Do" include: 1. Regularly clean your home by dust wiping; 2. Avoid burning waste and incense; 3. Plant trees to absorb pollution and trap dust; 4. Use public transport; and 5. Turn off engines when parked and maintain vehicles to prevent excessive smoke emissions.

Public advisories include encouraging people to check air quality information before leaving home via

If the public observes pollution sources, they can report clues via Traffy Fondue.
