FacebookBangkok Metropolitan AdministrationA post stated that the Bangkok Air Quality Information Center reported the PM 2.5 situation in Bangkok on 26 Dec 2025 at 07:00 GMT+7.

The average for Bangkok is 34.7 µg/m³ (standard 37.5 µg/m³). Air quality is moderate, with particulate levels tending to decrease. However, 11 areas have PM levels above the standard in the orange category, indicating early health effects. These areas are:

1. Chatuchak district 45 µg/m³

2. Sathorn district 44.9 µg/m³

3. Bang Rak district 44.1 µg/m³

4. Pathum Wan district 41.9 µg/m³

5. Bang Kho Laem district 41.6 µg/m³

6. Bang Sue district 40.2 µg/m³

7. Phasi Charoen district 39.8 µg/m³

8. Nong Khaem district 39.5 µg/m³

9. Phra Khanong district 39.2 µg/m³

10. Ratchathewi district 38.2 µg/m³

11. Bang Khen district 37.8 µg/m³

Health recommendations for air quality at the orange level: early health effects expected.

  • General public: Use personal protective equipment such as PM2.5 masks whenever going outdoors. Limit time spent on strenuous outdoor activities or exercise. Watch for abnormal symptoms like coughing, difficulty breathing, or eye irritation.
  • At-risk groups: Use protective equipment such as PM2.5 masks whenever outdoors. Avoid strenuous outdoor activities or exercise. Follow medical advice and seek medical attention promptly if symptoms occur.

Regarding forecasts influencing PM 2.5, ventilation is expected to be weak on 26-27 Dec, with a closed atmospheric layer near the surface combined with strong winds, so PM concentrations are expected to decrease.

From 28-30 Dec, ventilation is mostly poor, so PM concentrations are forecast to rise before decreasing again from 1-3 Jan 2026.
