76 Years of Thairath Group Continuing Its Mission to Develop Thai Children into Global Citizens

Thairath Group marks its 76th anniversary, committed to continuing a mission spanning more than seven decades to "develop Thai children into global citizens." It stands firm in driving the quality of Thai education, fostering Thai youth, and keeping pace with global changes.

On 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Thairath Group opened its doors to guests to celebrate its 76th anniversary and the beginning of its 77th year. This date also marks the birthday of Kamphon Watcharaphol, the former director and founder of Thairath newspaper, which laid the foundation for the various media under Thairath Group. The event included donations to the Thairath Foundation to support education at all 111 Thairath Wittaya schools nationwide. Many prominent figures attended, including Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Democrat Party Leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, People’s Party Leader Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, as well as representatives from government and private sectors.


Executives from Thairath Group welcoming guests included Sarawut Watcharaphol, Editor-in-Chief of Thairath newspaper; Watchara Watcharaphol, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Thairath TV and Thairath Online; Jitsupa Watcharaphol, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Thairath TV and Thairath Online; and Thanwalai Watcharaphol, Executive of Online Content at Thairath Online.

The event featured an exhibition by the Thairath Foundation and sales of handmade products by students from various Thairath Wittaya schools, such as Thairath Wittaya 95 (Wat Pho Thong Bon) in Nonthaburi Province, Thairath Wittaya 102 (Ban Koh Tao) in Trang Province, Thairath Wittaya 99 (Ban Mae Suya) in Mae Hong Son Province, and Thairath Wittaya 75 Chalermprakiet in Bangkok.


Over the past 76 years, Thairath Group has placed great importance on providing educational opportunities to Thai children by establishing the Thairath Foundation and continuously supporting all 111 Thairath Wittaya schools nationwide since 1969.

On the occasion of its 76th anniversary and entering its 77th year, Thairath Group continues to uphold its mission to "develop Thai children into global citizens" without pause, remaining a key force in advancing the quality of Thai education and cultivating quality Thai youth who can keep up with the rapidly evolving global landscape.
