Chulalongkorn University, together with the Information Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China and the China Intercontinental Media Office, is preparing to hold a Thai-Chinese youth cultural exchange seminar.
On 12 Jan, reporters learned that the Information Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China and the China Intercontinental Media Office, in cooperation with Chulalongkorn University, are organizing a Thai-Chinese youth cultural exchange seminar titled 'The Power of the New Generation: Creativity Without Borders' from 14-16 Jan 2026 at rooms 210-211, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. This event celebrates the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Thailand and China and 50 years of the golden friendship between the two countries. Leaders from both nations have jointly announced the creation of a Thai-Chinese future community aiming for greater stability, prosperity, and sustainability to strengthen the friendship between their peoples and promote cultural and humanitarian exchanges among youth.
The opening ceremony will be honored by Mr. Li Mian, Director of the Foreign Communication Center at the China Intercontinental Media Office, Information Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, and Professor Dr. Wiles Phurivat, President of Chulalongkorn University, along with distinguished guests. The event will open on 14 Jan 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in rooms 210-211 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
On 14 Jan, activities will include exhibitions, cultural performances, and three main discussion topics: 1. The inheritance and innovation of traditional culture, 2. Cooperation and innovative practices in international cultural exchange, and 3. The role of the new generation as a hub for promoting global culture. The day will conclude with an evening cultural event promoting tourism and culture, as well as announcing plans for Thai young media and youth visits to China in 2026. On 15-16 Jan 2026, the public can freely visit exhibitions of contemporary sculptures and artworks showcasing Thai-Chinese artistic wisdom.
