Environmental Plan Unveiled for Testing Waste Incineration Plant at On Nut with Capacity of at Least 1,000 Tons/Day

An environmental plan has been unveiled for testing a waste incineration plant with a capacity of no less than 1,000 tons per day at On Nut, aiming to elevate Bangkok's waste management to clean energy that is environmentally friendly and supportive of local communities.

New Sky Energy (Bangkok) Co., Ltd., the project operator for waste incineration with a capacity of at least 1,000 tons per day to generate electricity at the On Nut waste disposal center, is advancing the project by holding small group meetings to explain information and environmental impact prevention measures (CoP). They also presented construction progress to residents of Prawet and nearby areas, aiming to upgrade Bangkok's waste management to clean energy that is environmentally and community-friendly. Experts joined the fieldwork to emphasize safety standards from 19 to 28 February 2026, continuing through 1 March 2026.

Managing Director Noppadol Pruksawan said the small group CoP meetings are being held in two main communities in Prawet District: the Ban Phatthana Sala Loi community and the Thep Raksa community. Representatives from the Prawet District Office and the On Nut waste disposal center participated closely to observe and exchange information. The goal is to foster accurate understanding before the system's waste intake testing begins in March 2026.

In addition, Consultant of Technology Co., Ltd. (COT), acting as the project's environmental advisor, reported on monitoring the project's operations since construction began and plans to expand activities to cover surrounding communities and villages. This meeting reflects the company's commitment to implementing the project alongside community development and environmental care, emphasizing the participation of local residents to sustainably improve quality of life.

The waste incineration project for electricity generation, with a capacity of no less than 1,000 tons per day at the On Nut waste disposal center, is located on 30 rai of land on Soi On Nut 86, Prawet Subdistrict, Prawet District, Bangkok. It has the capability to process at least 1,000 tons of waste daily (with a maximum capacity of 1,600 tons per day). The project operates under a public-private partnership (PPP) model to enhance Bangkok's waste management efficiency in an environmentally friendly manner.
