"Silom Songkran" festival In 2026, the event will be held fully over three days from 12 to 14 April, bringing a lineup of concerts and creative activitieswith a space theme. The governor requests cooperation to refrain from using powder and to dress modestly.
On 26 March 2026 at 08:45 GMT+7, at CP Tower Silom, Bang Rak district, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, presided over the opening of the 2026 Songkran festival activities under the concept "CP SPLASH TO SPACE." He stated that Bangkok is preparing over 80 Songkran events across the city organized by government agencies, private sectors, and shopping centers to distribute happiness widely so that people can participate throughout the city.
For the BMA, the City Hall plaza serves as the cultural activity center, including the procession of Buddha replicas for public veneration to bring auspiciousness. Meanwhile, Silom Road is the main area for entertainment and tourism, based on four key principles: 1. Culture – preserving Thai traditions; 2. Economy – stimulating tourism and spending;3. Environment– maintaining cleanliness, reducing waste, and promoting proper waste disposal; 4. Safety – strictly enforcing measures to protect citizens and tourists in all aspects.
This year, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has collaborated with the private sector, especially the Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) group, to organize activities on Silom Road under the concept "CP SPLASH TO SPACE," a space-themed Songkran festival. This aims to add vibrancy and elevate the event to be more modern and engaging through creative activities and various performances, integrating cooperation from all sectors including municipal officers, police, security agencies, and the private sector to ensure order and public confidence.
In particular, Silom Road has been strictly organized.Entry and exit pointsare set at nine locations with screening systems, andan emergency lanehas been prepared to accommodate urgent situations, along with service points for the public, first aid stations, and adequate public transport arrangements to facilitate citizens and tourists to travel and participate conveniently and safely.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration requests public cooperation to refrain from playing with powder, dress respectfully, respect others' rights, avoid violence, and help maintain cleanliness of the area. This is to ensure the Songkran festival proceeds smoothly, enjoyably, and memorably for everyone.
"We invite everyone to join the fun at Silom Road Songkran and other areas across Bangkok creatively, to collectively preserve Thai culture, maintain cleanliness and orderliness, and create a positive image for Bangkok in the eyes of the world," Governor Chadchart said.
Mr. Prasit Boonduangprasert, CEO of CPF, said CPF is very pleased to collaborate and support this good project of Bangkok to promote Silom Road as a tourism destination during the Songkran festival and to advance it as a global destination. This cooperation builds upon last year's success, including the "Thai Chicken Goes to Space" campaign, which was successfully implemented this year and has been further developed into a symbolic exhibition reflecting the potential and standards of Thai products worldwide through the concept "Space-level Standards."
This year, we are confident the event will be even livelier, having extended the duration from two days to three full days from 12 to 14 April 2026, adding more activities and diverse entertainment such as creative activities inspired by the space concept, all-day performances and concerts, and special events that enliven Silom Road. It is expected that many Thai and international touristswill participate, creating excitement and boosting Bangkok's economy during the festival period.
