The Songkran 2026 festival is approaching. For those planning to travel out of town or return to their hometowns, we have compiled alternative routes to avoid traffic jams heading toward the northern, northeastern, eastern, and southern regions during Songkran as follows.
1. Eastern Ring Road (Highway 9): Turn left at Khlong Luang interchange, use Highway 3214 to connect to Highway 347, then turn left at Bang Pahan intersection to join Highway 32 (Asian Highway).
2. Western Ring Road (Highway 9): Turn left onto Taling Chan–Chainat Road (Highway 340) which connects to Phahonyothin Road (Highway 1), then turn left at Luang Pho O intersection (Highway 1) heading toward Nakhon Sawan Province.
1. Phahonyothin Road: Turn right at Phu Khae three-way junction onto Phu Khae–Lom Sak Road (Highway 21), then turn right at Muang Khom intersection onto Highway 2256 or turn left onto Highway 205 to connect to Highway 201 toward Chaiyaphum Province.
2. Motorway M6 (Bang Pa-in to Nakhon Ratchasima), a 196 km route, entering at Bang Pa-in toll gate and continuing to the bypass around Korat city.
3. The route from Bangkok to Chachoengsao, using Highway 304 (Phanom Sarakham District – Kabin Buri District – Wang Nam Khiao District – Pak Thong Chai District) heading toward Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
4. The route from Bangkok toward Sa Kaeo Province – Aranyaprathet District – Ta Phraya District – Non Daeng District – Lahan Sai District leading into Buriram Province.
1. Motorway No. 7 (Motorway).
2. Use Motorway No. 304 passing through Min Buri and Nong Chok districts to exit toward the eastern region.
3. Use Highway 34 (Thep Ratthana Road) passing through Bang Na and Bang Pakong, or take the Burapha Withi Expressway to access the eastern region.
4. Highway 3 (Sukhumvit Road).
