Social Security Office Enhances e-Self Service System Linked with ThaiD to Protect Insured Persons Data

The Social Security Office has developed the e-Self Service system by linking it with ThaiD to provide stronger protection for insured persons' data security.

On 14 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Kanchana Phoolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, revealed that the office has upgraded the security of the e-Self Service system to better protect insured persons’ data. Users are now required to verify their identity through the ThaiD application, the government’s digital identity verification system, to access the Social Security Office’s e-Self Service as follows.

1. Those who had a username and password for the e-Self Service system before 2 Apr 2026 GMT+7 can no longer use their old credentials to log in. They must now log in exclusively through the ThaiD application. Those who have not yet verified their identity via ThaiD must register with the app first, while users who have already completed verification can log in immediately via ThaiD.

2. New users who have never registered for the e-Self Service system must register and log in using the ThaiD application first.

3. Users accessing the system through the “Government Channel” app must register and log in with ThaiD the first time they use it. Afterwards, they can access the Social Security Office’s e-Self Service system via the Social Security Office service menu.

At the same time, the Social Security Office recognizes the technological access limitations faced by certain groups, such as the elderly, disabled, and workers unfamiliar with app usage. The office is therefore considering developing a variety of identity verification methods to facilitate and ensure equal access for all groups. It continues to collaborate closely with the Digital Government Development Agency to enhance system efficiency and coverage.

The Secretary-General added that insured persons can self-register for ThaiD by downloading and installing the ThaiD app on iOS or Android devices, selecting the “Self-Registration” menu, reading and accepting the terms of use, completing the identity verification steps, and setting a PIN code. Once the system displays the citizen ID card image on the mobile screen, registration is complete. If self-verification is not possible, insured persons can present their original ID card to officials at district offices or local government offices for verification. The office encourages insured persons to use the e-Self Service system to submit benefit requests, reducing travel burdens and enabling convenient, fast service 24 hours a day.
