
The GLO Cup 2026 Youth Football Championship Thailand Southern Zone qualifiers concluded with regional representatives secured in both under-13 and under-15 age groups.quota
On 27 Apr, reporters reported that the 8-a-side Youth Football Championship Thailand, GLO Cup 2026 Southern Zone qualifiers officially ended on 26 Apr in Songkhla Province. The regional representatives in under-13 and under-15 categories, four teams each, as well as youth players from the GLO STAR project in the southern region, were finalized. The final day was lively, with Colonel Noon Sansanakom, Director of the Government Lottery Office, presiding over the awards ceremony. Captain Piyapong Piw-on, competition chairman, also congratulated the outstanding youth players.
Regarding results, in the under-13 final, Plukpanya Municipality under royal patronage narrowly defeated Kampee Wittaya School 1-0 to claim the southern championship. In under-15, Peera Ya x Bohmad Sport Academy beat Yala Sports School 2-0 to win the title. The four teams reaching the semifinals in each category earned the right to represent the south in the national championship. The U13 teams included:Kampee Wittaya School, Plukpanya Municipality under royal patronage,Peera Ya Football Academy, Euro FC Training Center. For U15, the teams were Peera Ya x Bohmad Sport Academy, Songkhla FC Academy, Kampee Wittaya School, and Yala Sports School.
Colonel Noon said the GLO Cup is not just a football competition platform but a key Government Lottery Office mission to give back to society, especially by providing Thai youth with opportunities to showcase their talents through sport. Sport is a fundamental base for long-term human and social development. Our goal is to build a strong youth football foundation from regional to national levels and beyond to international stages. Projects like GLO STAR help push Thai children to develop their skills abroad. We believe that with the right opportunities, Thai youth have potential equal to any nation. The GLO STAR project, a highlight of the event, selected 11 southern youth players for the national selection round, divided by category: U13 players are Nataphat Butsa (Plukpanya Municipality under royal patronage), Akkaradech Srisan (Sawat Baworn Academy), Kittipong Jemasor (Songkhla Provincial Administration Academy), Wannakrit Supap (Plukpanya Municipality under royal patronage), and Karnich Behing (Kampee Wittaya School).
The GLO STAR U15 players include Kittin Iadwaree (Peera Ya x Bohmad Sport Academy), Petchchara Rattanapan (Plukpanya Municipality under royal patronage), Suraphot Anon (Peera Ya x Bohmad Sport Academy), Kritayachot Robkhob (Jandi Academy), Tayuddin Aroma (Peera Ya x Bohmad Sport Academy), and Alfahmi Yunu (Yala Sports School).
The GLO STAR project will select players from all seven regions nationwide before the national championship. The selection will narrow to 15 players per age group for a training camp (GLO STAR Camp), and finally to 3 players per group who will receive the significant opportunity to train in Japan for six months.
Meanwhile, the next GLO Cup 2026 qualifier will be held in the Eastern Zone in Chachoengsao Province from 5–10 May 2026, using Chachoengsao Central Stadium for U13 and Chachoengsao Municipality Stadium for U15, to select representatives advancing to the national championship.
