Orthopedic Doctors Invite Steps for 13 Hospitals Thanks Thai Generosity with Donations Surpassing 100 Million Baht

"Orthopedic Doctors Invite Steps for 13 Hospitals" thanks the generosity of Thai people as donations exceed 100 million baht! This created a grand charity running event, uniting tens of thousands of runners for the bone and joint health of Thai people, preparing to provide medical equipment to hospitals in need.

The spirit of giving was powerfully displayed in the year’s charity walk-run event, 'Orthopedic Doctors Invite Steps for 13 Hospitals,' held at the Phaya Naga Plaza, Thammasat University Rangsit Center. The event aimed to create opportunities for nationwide access to quality bone and joint disease treatment. Organized under the collaboration of the Royal College of Orthopaedic Surgeons of Thailand (RCOST) along with partners including the Orthopaedic Association of Thailand, Orthopaedic Physicians Foundation, Siriraj Foundation, Khon La Khaw Foundation, We Run THAILAND, Butterbear, Supachai-Busadee Chiaravanont Foundation, Channel 3HD, Workpoint Channel, and Channel 7HD, the event became a nationwide phenomenon. Throughout activities in five regions, more than 100,000 people registered to participate in walking and running events. Especially on 3 May 2026, the run gathered up to 20,000 runners and announced the success of donations surpassing 100 million baht. The funds will be used to purchase orthopedic medical equipment for 13 under-resourced hospitals. The project continues to accept donations until 30 June 2026, as many hospitals nationwide still need essential medical equipment to enhance treatment and care for bone and joint patients efficiently and inclusively.

The event was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Keerati Charoencholwanich, President of the Royal College of Orthopaedic Surgeons of Thailand (RCOST); Mr. Thanongsak Supasub, Director of We Run Thailand; Mr. Atiwara Kongmalai, Chairman of the Khon La Khaw Foundation; Mr. Supachai Chiaravanont, Senior Vice Chairman of the Charoen Pokphand Group and founder of the Supachai–Busadee Chiaravanont Foundation; Mrs. Busadee Chiaravanont, Vice Chairwoman of the Supachai–Busadee Chiaravanont Foundation; Ms. Tracyanne Malinunt, Chief Operating Officer of BEC World Public Company Limited; Mr. Panya Nirandkul, Chairman of Workpoint Entertainment Public Company Limited; and Ms. Sunee Paripunna, Assistant Managing Director of Channel 7HD. The event began with the charming 'Nong Noey' (Butterbear), the beloved idol, leading the warm-up before the runners were released. The event concluded with a grand full concert by Bodyslam, adding happiness and memorable moments for all participants.

Professor Dr. Keerati Charoencholwanich, President of the Royal College of Orthopaedic Surgeons of Thailand (RCOST), said, "This project was born from the intention to elevate bone and joint treatment, which remains a field where many hospitals, especially in remote areas, lack modern medical equipment and tools. This stepping event is not just about exercising for health because the support from all sectors has merged into a powerful force that has driven the 'Orthopedic Doctors Invite Steps for 13 Hospitals' project to succeed, with accumulated donations exceeding 100 million baht. All funds will be used to purchase orthopedic medical equipment to be delivered to 13 under-resourced hospitals nationwide. This will enhance patient treatment capabilities, reduce waiting times, and improve the long-term quality of life for the public. This marks a success for the Thai public health sector. I thank all parties involved who helped make this project a reality—from government and private organizations, medical teams, healthcare personnel, volunteers, to all supporters who wholeheartedly pushed this project forward, and especially the Thai people nationwide who showed the power of giving, whether through participating in runs, donating, or sending encouragement. Every step taken by each person is valuable and contributes significantly to this success."

Mr. Atiwara Kongmalai, Chairman of the Khon La Khaw Foundation, stated, "On behalf of the Khon La Khaw Foundation, I have always believed that the small steps of each individual, when combined, become a great stride capable of creating a massive positive impact. Seeing Thai brothers and sisters come out to run to support orthopedic doctors and hospitals is a beautiful sight. I hope the inspiration from the 'Orthopedic Doctors Invite Steps for 13 Hospitals' project will encourage many people to pay more attention to their own health."

Mr. Thanongsak Supasub, Director of We Run Thailand, said, "One of the proud achievements of the 'Orthopedic Doctors Invite Steps for 13 Hospitals' project is the 'Orthopedic Doctors Invite Steps Run Regional' events that received overwhelming positive responses in all 13 provinces where activities were held, including Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chiang Mai, Udon Thani, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani, Phitsanulok, Songkhla, Suphanburi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen, and Chonburi.
