Thaksin Leaves Klong Prem Central Prison, Heads to Probation Office

After the national anthem, Thaksin Shinawatra and his family boarded a private car to leave Klong Prem Central Prison, heading to the probation office amid a large gathering of media and Red Shirt supporters who had set up in the area.

On 11 May 2026, at the front of Klong Prem Central Prison, reporters reported that after Thaksin Shinawatra was granted parole and left the prison, his family and Red Shirt supporters waited to offer encouragement before standing together for the national anthem at 07:53.

Then at 07:55, Thaksin boarded a Mercedes-Maybach with Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra and left Klong Prem Central Prison. Thaksin rolled down the car window to greet those waiting to receive him, but his personal security asked the media to cooperate by refraining from interviews, as it was expected he would head to report at the probation office because reports indicated he had already been fitted with an electronic monitoring bracelet upon release from prison.

Officials also requested cooperation and formed a human barrier to allow Thaksin’s vehicle to exit Klong Prem Central Prison, amid the large number of media and Red Shirt supporters who had gathered in the area.
