Later, FacebookRatchathewi District Officeposted a message stating, "Situation report at 15:51: A public bus caught fire (involved in an accident) near the Airport Rail Link Makkasan station on Asoke-Din Daeng Road. Fire and rescue teams from Phayathai station have arrived at the scene. Initially, the fire is burning with intermittent explosions due to the train colliding with the public bus, cars, and motorcycles. Several people are injured. Authorities are rushing to use water and assist the injured."

Latest reports indicate that traffic on Asoke Montri Road to Rama 9 Intersection is heavily congested in both directions because a container train is blocking the route and cannot be moved.
