Recovery of Train-Bus Collision Debris at Makkasan Airport Link Restores Normal Traffic Victims Report to Police

Authorities mobilized to recover the wreckage of a train colliding with a bus near the Makkasan Airport Link station, restoring traffic to normal. The first train after the incident passed through the area without problems, while victims gradually filed police reports.

On 16 May 2026, a freight train originating from Chachoengsao and bound for Bang Sue Station collided with air-conditioned bus line 206, which runs between Mega Bangna and Bang Khen, near the Makkasan Airport Rail Link station. The crash caused a severe fire on the bus, resulting in 8 deaths and 30 injuries, as previously reported.

Reporters noted that after officials recovered the bodies of all 8 deceased trapped on bus line 206 and forensic police completed evidence collection and identification, related authorities used a large crane to move the bus and a locomotive to tow the damaged train from the scene, successfully clearing the area by 22:20.Traffic on Asoke-Din Daeng Road was then reopened and is now operating normally.

At approximately 22:30, the first train, consisting only of a locomotive, passed through the accident site, with warning signals activated before entering the Asoke station area.

At Makkasan Police Station, injured and affected individuals gradually arrived to file police reports, including Myanmar families reporting missing persons. One family believes the wife may be among the deceased on bus line 206, as she boarded that bus around 3 p.m. today and has been unreachable since the news of the collision.
