On 17 May 2025, it was reported that Ajarn Nop, or Mr. Nop Photirak, a political and lifestyle journalist widely known as the trusted astrologer for Thairath Newspaper, beloved by readers and disciples alike, passed away peacefully from old age at 05:34 on 17 May 2025 at Rajavithi Hospital, aged 99.
The family has arranged religious ceremonies at Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Bang Khen, Bangkok, with the funeral water-pouring ceremony at 16:00 in Hall 12.
Following that, prayer ceremonies will be held from 18–20 May 2025 at 18:00, with the cremation scheduled for 14:00 on 21 May 2026 at Crematorium 1, Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Bang Khen, Bangkok.
