Mom Korn Runs for Bangkok Governor, Emphasizes Proactive Leadership and Readiness to Defend Bangkok Residents

M.L. Korakasiwat Kasemsri has traveled to register as a candidate for Bangkok governor, promoting the slogan "SAVE BKK - BKK SAFE" He emphasized proactive work, declaring the new governor must be a commander ready to face challenges for Bangkok residents.

28 May 2026 GMT+7 M.L. Korakasiwat Kasemsri or "Mom Korn" the prospective Bangkok governor, running as an independent, arrived at Bangkok City Hall 2 (Din Daeng) to register. He shared his working approach, saying "SAVE BKK - BKK SAFE" means Bangkok will protect all Thai people.

He said, "We have a pact that we don't want to see deaths every day, and there are many issues we can prevent. For example, building collapses—officials say they lack authority, but in reality, Bangkok must be aware of design changes and warn about safety risks. Therefore, we will not work reactively but proactively."

Regarding train-bus collisions, where fatalities occurred due to fire caused by NGV valve failures lacking safety valves, he said if elected governor, he would pinpoint the cause clearly. Collisions happen, but survival is possible; however, burning is unacceptable. From school bus fires onward, if he becomes governor, he must be a commander ready to face challenges. Safety comes first; when Bangkok is safe, tourism will increase.

"Therefore, I must be a proactive governor, one who prevents these issues, including corruption. We need a system to expose corruption from the start. The new governor must be a commander to face challenges for Bangkok residents. We won't just react to daily problems but will prevent issues we can control."

On the issue of high-rise buildings, currently 2.6 million people live in tall buildings in Bangkok, with 2 million at risk of fires because they live above the reach of fire trucks. Therefore, firefighting drones must be used to launch plastic rockets to clear paths for foam spraying. Ten to twenty drones can operate simultaneously, alongside aerial rescue teams.

He also discussed solutions to convert waste into value and emphasized the education of Bangkok's children to become global citizens within four years.
