Prepare to clear your home for the rainy season as Bangkok Metropolitan Administration organizes an event called “Scheduled Large Waste Disposal” for 2026 to facilitate residents in disposing of large unused items that cannot be thrown away with regular trash, such as sofas, mattresses, tables, chairs, or broken electrical appliances, free of charge. On Saturday, 13 June 2026 and Sunday, 14 June 2026 covering 31 districts across Bangkok.

Residents are asked to place large waste items and unused goods outside their homes before 8:30 a.m. to await collection by officials between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will collect large waste on 13-14 June, with collection schedules varying by district. Confirm the dates and district coordinates as follows:

List of large waste items accepted for collection and disposal in Bangkok 2026

  • Old furniture
  • Large unused electrical appliances
  • Unwanted construction materials
  • Large unused sports equipment

Residents are advised to sort large waste items before disposal, such as furniture, electrical appliances, and sports equipment larger than 1 meter, which should be cut into smaller pieces. Heavy items should be disassembled, and small waste should be bundled neatly. Bring your ID card for verification (electricity or water bills can be used as alternatives).

Steps for free large waste disposal by Bangkok Metropolitan Administration on 13-14 June 2026:

1. Bring waste to the designated collection point.
2. Present identification to confirm ownership.
3. Officials will transport the waste to disposal sites free of charge.

Warning: Improper dumping obstructs Bangkok’s drainage system and is punishable by a 2,000 baht fine under the Cleanliness Act.Ifwaste is dumped outside designated containers or points, the fine is 10,000 baht, and dumping into waterways is punishable under the Criminal Code, Section 380.
