The Heart Foundation of Thailand invites Thais to get their hearts fit by holding the 4th Royal Cup Novice Jump Rope Competition to support Thai youth in staying free from disease in Bangkok.
On 20 June 2026, the Heart Foundation of Thailand under Royal Patronage, together with the Thai Jump Rope Sports Association, announced the 4th Royal Cup Novice Jump Rope Competition for 2026 at Prachanivet Sports Center, Bangkok. The event aims to encourage youth and the general public to develop exercise habits, strengthen heart health, and promote Thai jump rope sport internationally.
Police Major General Dr. Kasem Rattanasumawong, Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Level 7) at Police General Hospital and executive committee member of the Heart Foundation of Thailand under Royal Patronage, revealed that this novice category targets youth aged 6-18 nationwide, as well as interested individuals. A key goal is to advance jump rope into schools and organizations to build strong jump rope club networks, providing children opportunities to showcase talents and use free time constructively.
"Jump rope has gained wide international interest, with skill, technique, rules, and exciting moves evolving. Competitions challenge participants from youth to global levels," said Police Major General Dr. Kasem.
Additionally, as a heart disease specialist, Police Major General Dr. Kasem added the benefits of this exercise: "The Heart Foundation of Thailand seriously promotes jump rope activities to ensure safety and reduce heart disease risk. It is easy to perform, requires minimal equipment, and is cost-effective. Regular practice clearly improves physical fitness, especially the circulatory and respiratory systems."
This competition is organized under the Jump Rope project as an alternative for youth to avoid heart disease, aiming to serve as a stepping stone to develop Thai youth athletes for regional, national, and international competitions in the future.
