
In the Town in Town area, a new Benz car crashed consecutively into 8 parked vehicles, causing damage and injuring 2 people. Police tested the driver's blood alcohol level, which was zero. The driver claimed he had just argued with his wife and lost control of his emotions.
Yesterday afternoon (29 June 2026), investigators from Wang Thonglang Police Station, along with traffic police, received reports of a multiple-vehicle collision on Sriwara Road, Phlabphla Subdistrict, Wang Thonglang District, Bangkok. They promptly arrived to inspect the scene and assist with traffic management.
At the scene, 8 damaged vehicles were scattered along the roadside. The car causing the accident was a gray Mercedes-Benz with red plates, driven by 42-year-old Preechacharn. The damaged vehicles included a white Honda, a black Toyota, two brown Toyotas, a black BYD with red plates, a white Honda, a gray Isuzu, and a black Chevrolet. Damage ranged from bumpers and hoods to front and rear body panels on several cars.
Two people inside the struck vehicles were injured. Officials provided assistance and transported them to the hospital. The scene was littered with vehicle debris, causing traffic congestion for a period.
Traffic police conducted a breathalyzer test on Preechacharn, which showed a reading of 0 milligrams percent, indicating no alcohol in his system.
Initial investigation revealed that Preechacharn was driving the new Benz when he collided with a parked car at the location. His vehicle then continued moving and hit several other parked cars consecutively, resulting in damage to a total of 8 vehicles.
Witness Ridwan Khemtong, 36, a delivery rider, said he was waiting for an order by the roadside when he heard loud crash noises from the start of the road. At first, he thought it was a normal accident, but when he looked back, he saw the new Benz still driving forward without stopping, crashing into multiple parked cars repeatedly. The continuous noise caused nearby residents to rush out to see what happened.
Ridwan said that after the car stopped, he quickly checked on the driver, worried he might be injured or cause further incidents. Initially, he thought the driver might be intoxicated, but upon approach, there was no smell of alcohol. The driver appeared frightened, trembling, and was crying continuously.
During the conversation, the driver said he had just had a fight with his wife and received a call asking for a breakup, causing severe stress. He was unable to compose himself or control his emotions, which led to the incident. Ridwan tried to comfort him, advised him to calm down, and warned against taking out personal problems by driving, as it could endanger innocent people.
Meanwhile, investigators are gathering evidence including statements from victims and witnesses, CCTV footage, and forensic examination results to proceed with legal action against the driver according to the law.
