Case Resolved: Woman Recovers Sapphire and Diamond Gold Bracelet Worth 300,000 Baht After Losing It in Siam Area

A woman from Narathiwat lost a sapphire and diamond gold bracelet weighing 3 baht and valued at over 300,000 baht in the Siam area. The case ended well with the item returned, and it is believed the finder had no intent to keep the property.

A woman from Narathiwat requested help after losing a sapphire and diamond gold bracelet weighing 3 baht and valued over 300,000 baht near a Watsons store inside a Siam shopping mall on 28 June. CCTV footage showed a woman bending down to pick up the bracelet and put it in her bag without contacting the owner to return it. The owner filed a report at Pathumwan Police Station and sought media assistance, fearing the finder might be a foreigner who could leave the country.Read the news: Woman from Narathiwat loses a bracelet worth 300,000 baht in Siam, appeals for its return.)

After receiving the report, Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, assigned Police Major General Chaikrit Pho-a, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 6, along with deputy commanders and officers of Pathumwan Police Station, to investigate the CCTV footage thoroughly. They identified the woman who took the bracelet and coordinated for her to return the item to the owner.

Most recently, on 2 July at 11:30 a.m., Mrs. Kasama Uma, the owner, and the woman who found the bracelet met with investigators at Pathumwan Police Station to return the sapphire and diamond gold bracelet worth over 300,000 baht. The handover proceeded smoothly, with an official record made before both parties departed separately.

Mrs. Kasama expressed great relief upon receiving the bracelet, saying she had barely eaten or slept in the days following the loss. She thanked the Pathumwan police officers for promptly pursuing the case and the media for their coverage, which helped recover her property quickly.

The owner added she wanted to urge the public not to blame or criticize the woman who found the bracelet, as she believed the woman did not intend to keep the property. The finder had been delayed in returning it due to traveling to Khon Kaen province to attend a relative's funeral. Throughout their discussions, the finder showed concern and care for the owner.

The woman who found the bracelet declined to give media interviews. After returning the item and expressing concern, she completed the official report with investigators and left Pathumwan Police Station immediately due to a booked flight.

This case attracted significant public attention after CCTV footage clearly captured the bracelet falling, the woman picking it up, and putting it in her bag. Police swiftly investigated, identified the woman, and coordinated the return of the property to its owner. The case ended amicably with the owner recovering her valuable item in full, and the police documented the handover as legal evidence.
