The Department of Disaster Prevention (DDPM) has warned residents to evacuate and move belongings away from the location where cracks and road subsidence were detected on Prachathipok Road following water leakage in the underground subway construction tunnel.
On 9 Jul 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that water leaked into the subway tunnel under construction near Wongwian Yai intersection on the Purple Line subway project at about 30 meters deep from the road surface. This is part of the Purple Line project from Tao Poon to Rat Burana (Kanchanaphisek Ring Road) Contract 4, between Phuttha Bridge and Dao Khanong, as previously reported on 8 Jul.
Most recently, the Department of Disaster Prevention (DDPM), together with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), have monitored the situation around the site of road subsidence, especially on Prachathipok Road.
They have also notified residents and business operators near the cracked area to evacuate and move their belongings out of the area to prevent risks and ensure safety. Shops, businesses, and buildings within the vicinity have begun relocating property for safety reasons.
Residents can report incidents and request assistance via the Line service “DDPM Incident Reporting 1784” (Line ID @1784DDPM) or call the emergency hotline 1784, available 24 hours a day.
