On 14 Jul 2023 GMT+7, reporters reported that the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, led by Mr. Sak Kosaengruang, the foundation's vice chairman, presided over the signing of the second Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on supporting vocational equipment between the Department of Women's Affairs and Family Institution and the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, alongside Mrs. Jatuporn Rojanapanich, Director-General of the Department under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. Also present were Mrs. Sirikul Opaswong, committee member and secretary of the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, and Ms. Siriporn Rojansukanjan, Deputy Director-General of the Department. The MOU aims to help women and men in single-parent families, who are responsible for caring for family members, to have careers and generate income to support themselves and their families. Executives from both organizations attended the ceremony at the second-floor meeting room, Building 2, Poh Teck Tung Foundation, Plabplachai, Bangkok.
Mr. Sak stated that Thailand's unemployment rate has been rising, affecting both women and men who lack career opportunities, leading to economic and social problems. Recognizing this, the Poh Teck Tung Foundation launched a vocational promotion project for women and families. Over the past three years, the foundation has provided vocational equipment to 326 women and families, totaling 6,204,673 baht. In 2026, the foundation has already distributed equipment at 7 locations, reaching 130 recipients, with 5 more locations planned for distribution this year. The foundation sincerely hopes this vocational promotion project will create jobs, income, lives, and happiness for families, communities, society, and the nation sustainably.
