The leader of Tosakanth band revealed that "Din" remains in stable condition despite burns over 80%, urging that the matter not be forgotten and calling on the venue to take responsibility for the victims.
At 3:00 p.m. on 14 Jul 2026 GMT+7 at the Forensic Institute of Police General Hospital, Mr. Athiphat Wichan, known as "Ice," the leader of Tosakanth band, spoke about the condition of "Din," the lead singer severely injured in the fire at a venue in the Ladprao area. He said Din's condition remains stable after surgery today and he is undergoing dialysis, with doctors closely monitoring him due to burns exceeding 80% of his body.
Mr. Athiphat said he inquired about Din's condition from Din's mother, who said he is still responsive and conscious. She believes that as long as Din has the will to fight, he will get through this ordeal. He confirmed this. "His mother said that Din is fighting," he said. Currently, the family is continuously monitoring his condition at the hospital.
Regarding the mental state of band members and other musicians, he admitted they are in a very bad place. Many have chosen to make merit and pray to heal their minds. Today, friends will attend the water-pouring funeral ceremony of “Breeze,” the band leader’s girlfriend and a singer in the band. They are currently waiting for the death certificate before bringing her body for the rites, which will be conducted by Breeze’s father, who is ordained as a monk.
Mr. Athiphat admitted the incident has deeply affected his feelings, to the point he considered quitting music. Every time he closes his eyes, he sees images of his girlfriend, friends, and the incident, causing sleeplessness and frequent startle reactions throughout the night. Although he still loves music, he is uncertain if the band can continue, as all members are traumatized.
"I have received encouragement from fellow musicians, both within and outside the band, including acquaintances and strangers, which helps me stay strong. Many have told me that as the band leader, I must rise and fight," he said.
Asked about returning to the scene of the incident, Mr. Athiphat said he does not dare to pass by the area again because he does not want to relive the images. He urged all night singers and musicians to choose workplaces that are safe. If they feel any venue is risky, they should avoid it because this incident made him realize how close the threat of fire really is.
"Before, when I saw news of fires elsewhere, I never thought it would come so close to me. I want to warn all my musician friends to be careful because it is a very close danger," he said.
Mr. Athiphat also urged society not to let this matter fade away. He assured that he will follow up on compensation and responsibility for all victims, not only for his girlfriend and band members but also for the families of the deceased, the injured, and those psychologically affected.
Regarding the venue's responsibility, Mr. Athiphat said no representatives or related parties have contacted him directly. Although he has seen statements posted on the venue’s page, he has not read the details. He called for the business operators to come forward clearly to explain how they will compensate the victims and to contact all those affected directly, believing that direct contact shows more sincerity than communication through posts alone.
Today, Mr. Athiphat will take his girlfriend’s body to hold religious ceremonies at Laem Fa Pha Temple in Samut Prakan Province.
