Bangkok Warns of High Tides from 28 July to 1 August 2026

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) warns residents living outside flood barriers along both banks of the Chao Phraya River to stay alert to "high tides" from 28 July to 1 August 2026

On 28 July 2026, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Facebook page posted a warning about high tides from 28 July to 1 August 2026, stating that this period will see elevated sea levels expected to cause riverbanks to overflow. To prepare, communities outside flood embankments or in low-lying areas should ready themselves for impacts from the high tide conditions during this time.

Furthermore, residents living outside flood barriers along both sides of the Chao Phraya River are advised to closely monitor water conditions. If flooding occurs, they should report to the Flood Control System Center at 0 2248 5115 (for main roads) or the Bangkok hotline 1555, available 24 hours a day.

For clarification, homes outside flood embankments are those located beyond the riverbank flood barriers and are directly affected by river water level fluctuations. Tide schedules showing daily full high and low tides of the Chao Phraya River can be downloaded from the Drainage Department's website.(Click here).
