Fire at Khlong Thom Center Controlled Officials Continue External Water Spraying Amid Heavy Smoke

At 23:13 in Bangkok, the latest update reported the fire at Khlong Thom Center has been controlled. Officials continue to spray water from outside as thick smoke remains.

On 28 Aug 2026, reporters reported that firefighting teams at Khlong Thom Center in Pom Prap Sattru Phai District are spraying water to control the fire. The roof and some structures have begun to collapse. So far, no trapped individuals have been reported inside the building.

Subsequently, the Facebook page "Bangkok Metropolitan Administration" reported that At 23:13, the fire at Khlong Thom Center on Worachak Road, Pom Prap Sattru Phai District, has now been brought under control.

Reporters noted that although officials say the fire is controlled, on-site observations show they are still spraying water from outside continuously. Dense smoke is still billowing from the building. Officials explained that inside, flames remain, with about 70% of the fire under control. The collapsed sections are around the second and third-floor parking areas, preventing direct firefighting due to piled debris. Flames are visible on the first floor, but officials have contained the fire's spread. Most damage is to items inside, including electric vehicles, CDs, and tools. It is expected to take a long time to fully extinguish due to structural obstacles preventing water access, but no further collapse is anticipated.
