B.Grimm Power Realigns Business Units to Support PDP 2026, Aiming to Become an Energy Tech Company

B.Grimm Power is advancing by reorganizing four business units to support PDP 2026, aiming to become an Energy Tech Company. The company revealed opportunities to generate both short- and long-term revenue, with the capability to immediately connect over 250 megawatts of electricity to customers.

Following B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (BGRIM) recently reporting its Q2 2026 financial results—with significant net profit growth and announcing an interim dividend of 0.18 baht per share—Mr. Nopadet Kannasut, CEO of BGRIM's Thailand, Malaysia, and Industrial Solutions business, provided additional business insights. He discussed the major business unit realignment to support the new national power development plan (PDP 2026) and the company's progression toward becoming an Energy Tech Company. He also revealed opportunities for immediate revenue recognition for the remainder of 2026 and into early 2027.

Mr. Nopadet disclosed that the country's long-term electricity demand is expected to reach approximately 77,374 megawatts in a high-case scenario by 2050, especially driven by Data Center projects in the EEC area, which are projected to require around 3,000–4,000 megawatts. The draft PDP 2026 is expected to open for public consultation by mid-August.

To seize these opportunities, B.Grimm Power has systematically transformed its organization by establishing four main business units that complement each other, with the goal of evolving from a leading power producer into a fully integrated Energy Tech Company.

  • B.Grimm Beyondbridge, the spearhead of the digital business, is advancing toward Digital Infrastructure-as-a-Service (DIaaS). It builds upon one of the world's longest Smart Micro Grid networks, spanning 216.76 kilometers, and is prepared to support the Third Party Access (TPA) mechanism expected under PDP 2026.
  • B.Grimm iNet has partnered with iNet to elevate Thai industrial estates into Smart Industrial Estates, enhancing the country's data security and Digital Sovereignty.
  • Digital Edge B.Grimm is developing and operating a 96-megawatt hyperscale Data Center valued at 26 billion baht in Chonburi. Construction is over 45% complete, with partial operations expected by late 2026. The company aims to expand to a total of 300 megawatts by 2030.
  • The regional clean energy portfolio, under the GreenLeap strategy, targets 10,000 megawatts of contracted capacity by 2030, with renewable energy comprising over 50%. This portfolio covers projects in Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, and Japan.

Beyond laying long-term foundations, Mr. Nopadet also revealed immediate business opportunities where the company can rapidly recognize revenue without new investments during the remainder of 2026 and into early 2027, including:

  • Surplus electricity capacity ready to connect immediately: The company has approximately 250 megawatts of power generation capacity in Map Ta Phut and Ang Thong industrial estates available for immediate connection and revenue recognition.
  • A Data Center Ecosystem deal involving land and power is under negotiation to sell land with an electrical system to Data Center developers, leveraging existing expertise and assets within the industrial estates.
  • The Nakwol 1 offshore wind farm project in South Korea, with a capacity of 365 megawatts, in which B.Grimm Power holds a 49% stake, is expected to commence commercial operations within this year. This follows B.Grimm Power Korea’s acquisition of approximately 85% of convertible bonds from Unison Co., Ltd., valued at 32 billion won, to support project development.
  • The Digital Edge B.Grimm hyperscale Data Center project in Chonburi is over 45% complete, with phased partial operations planned by late 2026.
  • Other projects expected to begin commercial operations soon include Zhongce Rubber’s 35-megawatt rooftop solar project in Amata City Industrial Estate, Rayong Province, and Huong Hoa 1, a 48-megawatt onshore wind project in Vietnam, along with other projects totaling up to 30 megawatts.
  • The Insee B.Grimm Solar project, with a capacity of 83.79 megawatts, began commercial operations on 19 February 2026 and continues to generate consistent revenue.
  • The Amata B.Grimm Power floating solar project in Amata City Industrial Estate, Chonburi, started generating revenue following the first phase's commercial operation on 1 July 2026, with a capacity of 17 megawatts.
  • In the Philippines, Amatera Renewable Energy Corporation (ARECO), a wholly owned subsidiary of B.Grimm Power, signed a 50-megawatt renewable energy power purchase agreement (REPA) for the Vista Alegre solar farm project, which has an installed capacity of 65 megawatts on Negros Island, with the National Transmission Corporation (TransCo) under the Ministry of Energy’s Green Energy Auction – 4 (GEA-4) program.

Besides capitalizing on short-term opportunities, B.Grimm Power is preparing infrastructure for small modular nuclear reactor (SMR) technology through partnerships with European and Chinese allies. This approach aligns with the principle of Energy Sovereignty to reduce dependence on fuel imports and mitigate global energy price volatility over the long term.

"For many organizations, the new national energy plan represents a challenge to adapt. For B.Grimm Power, it is the explanation of the path we have chosen all along," Mr. Nopadet concluded.
