Bangkok Alerts Public to Heavy Rain Warning from 5-7 Sep, Possible Flooding in Some Areas

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration announced that the Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning from 5-7 September 2026. Bangkok may experience heavy rain and localized flooding in some areas. The public is advised to closely monitor the rainfall situation.

On 5 September 2026, the official Facebook page of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration posted that heavy to very heavy rain is expected from 5–7 September 2026. The Meteorological Department warns that upper Thailand will experience heavy rain, especially in the northern and northeastern regions, due to a monsoon trough passing through the north and upper northeast, combined with a moderate southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

Bangkok may see heavy rain and localized flooding in certain areas. Residents are urged to closely monitor the rainfall situation, be cautious of lightning, and plan travel accordingly, especially during heavy rain periods.

If flooding, slow drainage, or waterway obstructions occur, report immediately via Bangkok’s hotline 1555, the Traffy Fondue application, or the Bangkok Flood Control System Center at 0 2248 5115. Stay calm during the rain, keep updated on conditions, and report incidents promptly.
