A fire broke out in a school building at a prominent school in the Bang Khun Thian area. Firefighters responded to the incident and have now extinguished the fire. One teacher was found to have inhaled smoke and was taken to hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
At 16:07 on 6 September 2026, reporters reported a fire near Suankularb Wittayalai Thonburi School on Kanchanaphisek Road (along the Bang Khun Thian–Phra Pradaeng expressway), Tha Kham subdistrict, Bang Khun Thian district, Bangkok. Fire and rescue personnel from Bang Bon and Thung Khru stations urgently responded to the scene.
The fire occurred in a four-story building within Suankularb Wittayalai Thonburi School, with flames burning on the upper floors. Officials quickly used water to extinguish the fire and by approximately 16:11, they had brought the fire under control and extinguished it.
Initially, one injured person was found at the scene: a man suffering from smoke inhalation. It was later confirmed that he was a teacher who had gone to the fire scene to attempt to extinguish the flames. Volunteers took him to Bang Khun Thian Elderly Hospital.
Preliminary reports indicate that two classrooms were damaged by the fire. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause. Further updates will be provided as available.
