Samsen Road in front of Boonrawd Company on the parliament side has sunk about 20 centimeters. Officials are rushing repairs and advising alternate routes to help drivers avoid traffic jams.
On 7 Sep 2026 GMT+7, reporters updated on the road surface subsidence on Samsen Road (parliament building side, Senate). The road sank about 20 centimeters at a location along the new water pipe installation project by the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) with a pipe diameter of 1.20 meters (up from the previous 80 centimeters and 1 meter) along the entire Samsen Road stretch.
Meanwhile, Waranya Leelaburapong, Director of Dusit District, along with the head of civil engineering, joined Thanapong Kamthong, Assistant Director of Dusit District, municipal officers, and Bang Pho Police traffic officers at the site to monitor and command the situation's resolution.
Initially, contractors from the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority have arrived at the site and are currently expediting repairs and improvements to the road surface to ensure safety and restore the traffic surface for the public as soon as possible.
Bang Pho Police traffic officers, together with municipal officers from Dusit District Office, have placed rubber cones to cordon off the subsided area (direction from Kiew Kaika Intersection heading outbound towards Kiakkai Intersection). They are managing traffic flow and continuously facilitating vehicle movement to minimize impact on commuters.
Meanwhile, Dusit District Office has recommended detour routes since MWA contractors are actively digging and repairing the subsided spot, causing congestion and slow traffic on Samsen Road outbound (heading toward Kiakkai Intersection).
The suggested detour is to turn right at Bang Krabue Intersection onto Amnuay Songkhram Road, which leads to Rama V Road heading toward Saphan Daeng or Kesa Komol Intersections.
For those traveling to Bang Sue or Nonthaburi, it is recommended to use Rama V Road or Techawanich Road as alternate routes.
