On 9 Sep 2026, the Facebook page "Bangkok Metropolitan Administration" posted that Governor Chadchart Sittipunt visited the site to follow up on the oil contamination in the drainage system along Chuea Phloeng Road and under the Rama 3 elevated bridge, at the boundary of Khlong Toei and Yannawa districts.
Bangkok teams up with the Ministry of Energy, oil companies, and related agencies to urgently address the oil contamination in the drainage system along Chuea Phloeng–Rama 3 Roads for the third consecutive day. Currently, oil supply has been halted and pipeline pressure reduced, leading to decreased oil volume and odor in the area. Equipment is being prepared to absorb and manage residual oil.
Officials are expediting the opening of two underground pipeline inspection sites to locate the leaks and carry out precise repairs, with experts involved. They stress that safety is paramount, continuously measuring vapors and LEL values, and urging residents to avoid smoking, sparks, and entering the controlled area.
Meanwhile, the cause of the leak remains under investigation. Bangkok has established an incident command center coordinating all agencies to monitor the situation until the area returns to normal.
