Get to know the "Prachim Ratthaya Expressway" following the announced toll rate increase from 65 baht to 80 baht (for 4-wheel vehicles), effective 15 Dec 2026 GMT+7.
According to the Royal Gazette website, the Ministry of Transport published a notification designating the Prachim Ratthaya Expressway as a toll road, specifying vehicle types subject to tolls or exemptions, and the toll rates for 2026.
However, users of the Prachim Ratthaya Expressway who wish to access the Si Rat Expressway (Chaeng Watthana–Bang Khlo and Phaya Thai–Srinakarin routes) and the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway (Din Daeng–Tha Ruea, Bang Na–Tha Ruea, and Dao Khanong–Tha Ruea routes) must pay tolls at the Bang Sue 2 toll plaza according to the Ministry of Transport's announced rates as follows.
1. Vehicles with up to 4 wheels: toll rate 80 baht per vehicle (up from 65 baht).
2. Vehicles with more than 4 but not exceeding 10 wheels: toll rate 130 baht per vehicle (up from 105 baht).
3. Vehicles with more than 10 wheels: toll rate 185 baht per vehicle (up from 150 baht).
The Prachim Ratthaya Expressway (Si Rat–Outer Ring Road Expressway) is a project connecting Bangkok and Thonburi. It is a BTO (Build, Transfer, and Operate) project under a concession agreement with the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT). The concession covers design, construction, management, operation, and maintenance of the expressway, with the concession expiring on 14 Dec 2042 GMT+7. BEM is responsible for design, construction, installation of related equipment and systems, as well as managing, operating, maintaining the expressway, and collecting tolls in exchange for toll and other possible revenues.
The project is an elevated expressway with six traffic lanes, stretching 16.7 kilometers and featuring 10 toll plazas. The route begins at the Outer Ring Road (Kanchanaphisek Road near Mahasawat Water Treatment Plant), heads east along the former Southern Railway line, crosses the Chao Phraya River at Rama 7 Bridge, and ends near Bang Sue Central Station (Chatuchak). It connects with the Si Rat Expressway north of Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal and descends to ground level at Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road.
It includes the following toll plazas:

2. Taling Chan Toll Plaza
3. Borommaratchachonnani Toll Plaza
4. Bang Bamru Toll Plaza
5. Bang Phlat Toll Plaza
6. Bang Kruai Toll Plaza
7. Rama 7 Bridge Toll Plaza
8. Kamphaeng Phet 2 Toll Plaza
9. Bang Sue 1 Toll Plaza
10. Bang Sue 2 Toll Plaza
Additionally, the company opened a connecting route from the Prachim Ratthaya Expressway to the northern side of the Si Rat Expressway (toward Chaeng Watthana) on 30 Sep 2018 GMT+7 to facilitate travel to Chaeng Watthana and onward to the Udon Ratthaya Expressway.
Recently, the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT), under the Ministry of Transport, has been in discussions with Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) and related agencies to find ways to assist, alleviate hardship, and reduce the burden on the public before the toll rate increase on the Prachim Ratthaya Expressway (Si Rat–Outer Ring Road Expressway) takes effect.
EXAT will officially announce details of public assistance measures in advance of the toll rate adjustment scheduled for 15 December 2026 GMT+7.
