A man went on a rampage, setting his house on fire and firing at firefighters before taking his own life inside his residence in the Charaslap alley area. Investigations inside the home uncovered numerous military-grade weapons, including M60 machine guns and explosives.
At approximately 09:27 on 25 Sep 2026, the 199 emergency hotline received a report of a violent house fire within Charaslap alley, Sirindhorn Road, Bang Phlat subdistrict, Bang Phlat district. Initial reports indicated that someone was trapped inside the building. Fire and rescue personnel from Bang O fire station promptly deployed forces and water trucks to extinguish the fire and provide urgent assistance.
Upon arrival, rescue officers attempted to enter the house to spray water and search for survivors. They were met with multiple gunshots fired from inside the house, forcing them to retreat quickly and hold their position at a safe distance. Police and special operations units were then called in to control the situation.
An on-site assessment revealed that the house was not just a residence but also a storage site for serious military-grade weapons. Officials found as many as two M60 heavy machine guns, a high-powered Desert Eagle handgun, and numerous unidentified explosives hidden inside, posing a maximum risk to nearby residents and officers.
By 11:29, reports confirmed that the house fire in Charaslap alley had been extinguished, leaving only smoke remaining.
Subsequently, police, special armed units, and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team established a perimeter around Charaslap alley, designating it a high-risk danger zone and strictly prohibiting unauthorized access. Later reports confirmed that the suspect had used a firearm to end his own life inside the residence on the second floor.
Currently, police, forensic teams, and the EOD unit are carefully conducting a thorough examination of the area to safely recover and destroy explosives and to investigate the source of the entire weapons cache.
