Inbound Vibhavadi Road is flooded with water up to 40 cm between Chaeng Watthana Tollgate and Lak Si Intersection. All types of vehicles are passing with difficulty. Traffic police have opened special lanes to expedite clearing of backed-up traffic.
On 26 Sep 1026 at 14:30, the Vibhavadi Rangsit Traffic Control Center/Tollway, Division 2, Traffic Police Bureau (Division 2, Traffic Police) reported flooding on the inbound Vibhavadi Rangsit Road heading toward Bangkok. Heavy continuous rain caused intermittent flooding from the front of Don Mueang Air Force Base and Don Mueang Airport, near Je Leng, along Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, significantly slowing traffic.
The worst affected area is beside the Chaeng Watthana Tollgate up to Lak Si Intersection, where floodwaters are about 40 centimeters deep and remain steady. All vehicles, both small and large, can pass only with difficulty, using just the far-right lane for travel.
To address the problem, traffic police coordinated with the highway district to promptly open a special lane near the median close to Chaeng Watthana Tollgate, to speed up clearing the accumulated vehicles. The backlog has now been completely cleared. Officers are stationed at the site to provide public information, route advice, and assistance to motorists.
In summary, all backed-up vehicles have been cleared, but traffic continues to move slowly in the right lane due to the sustained high water level.
