On 26 September 2026, the Facebook pageof the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Education Officeposted a message stating, "Announcement from the Education Office regarding temporary school closures due to special circumstances. Continuous heavy rainfall has caused flooding, traffic problems, and affected daily life in Bangkok, posing dangers to people's lives and health, as well as damage to public and private property.
To ensure the safety of students, parents, teachers, and educational personnel under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and to inspect school properties for any damage to ensure safe use, as well as to facilitate safe and convenient travel to schools and ensure schools are prepared for effective teaching and the first semester final exams of 2026,
all schools under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will be closed on Monday, 28 September 2026. Makeup classes will be scheduled later. Schools are instructed to urgently inform parents."
