The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation mobilized staff, veterinarians, and volunteer foundations to assist the 'Neua Sai' deer within Siam Park after flood impacts, successfully relocating 10 deer and discovering six dead carcasses.
On 28 Sep 2026, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation disclosed its rescue operation for over 20 'Neua Sai' deer at Siam Amazing Park, Bangkok, following online appeals for help due to flooding that forced the animals to stand in water for extended periods.
Mr. Suchat Chomklin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, coordinated with Mr. Attachai Luangamornwiwat, Siam Amazing Park executive, to discuss rescue strategies. He assigned Mr. Atthapol Charoenchansa to lead a team of officials and veterinarians to assess the situation and plan the relocation of the deer from the flooded area to safer locations.
On 27 Sep 2026 at 14:00, the Wildlife Conservation Division deployed officers, including Mr. Thani Wongnak, Director of the Wildlife Protection Section, and Ms. Kittiyaporn Iamsaad, Senior Veterinarian of the Wildlife Rescue and Welfare Department, to assess the situation and plan assistance.
At 20:30, a team of 20 Department of National Parks officials, including veterinarians and staff from the Wildlife Health Management Section, Huai Sai Wildlife Breeding Station, Khao Son Wildlife Breeding Station, the Wildlife Breeding and Protection Sections, along with volunteers from the Wildlife Friends Foundation, volunteer veterinarians, zoo veterinarians, and the Littlepaws Foundation, conducted the relocation of the 'Neua Sai' deer within Siam Amazing Park.
The operation successfully relocated 10 deer from the flooded area. Meanwhile, six deer carcasses were found, having died before the rescue team arrived. The rescue and relocation mission was completed by 23:30.
Mr. Suchat stated that when animals are affected by flooding, immediate rescue and safety care are crucial. He instructed the department to coordinate closely with Siam Amazing Park and related agencies to care for the remaining deer and continuously monitor their health and welfare.
Mr. Attachai Luangamornwiwat, Siam Amazing Park executive, expressed gratitude to Minister Suchat Chomklin for prioritizing animal welfare at the park and for directing the Department of National Parks to support rapid rescue efforts. He affirmed the park's full cooperation with authorities to protect the animals and minimize flood impacts.
