The situation in Sai Mai is beginning to improve as floodwaters recede. However, some areas in the Ban Ua Arthorn Khlong Thanon community remain deeply flooded, with stagnant, foul-smelling water and floating garbage. Residents are appealing to relevant agencies to speed up water pumping efforts.
On 2 Oct 2026 GMT+7, reporters observed that flooding in most parts of Sai Mai district is steadily decreasing, leaving only a few spots with minor water accumulation around 25–30 centimeters. This has allowed residents to gradually return home to begin recovery and resume normal life. However, the most concerning vulnerable area remains: "Ban Ua Arthorn Khlong Thanon Community" Located in Sai Mai district, especially the inner zone from buildings 47 to 54, which forms a basin and is the lowest part of the area, causing water to collect and flood as deep as 40–50 centimeters continuously for more than eight days.
At these persistently flooded spots, the water has become stagnant and foul-smelling due to large amounts of floating waste. This is severely impacting the hygiene and living conditions of residents in the area.
Ban Ua Arthorn Khlong Thanon is a large community with 87 five-story residential buildings, each containing 45 units, housing approximately 10,000 residents. Currently, those who evacuated during the initial flooding are beginning to return, despite facing issues with polluted water and accumulated garbage.
Residents urgently request assistance from relevant agencies to pump out trapped water, expedite garbage collection, and spray disinfectants to restore sanitary conditions and safe living environments for the community as soon as possible.
