Rain Begins Forming in Central Bangkok Flood Watch Along Lower Khlong Hok Wa Canal Bordering Pathum Thani

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration warns that rain is starting to form in central Bangkok, with caution advised for strong gusty winds. Authorities are monitoring potential water overflow along the lower Khlong Hok Wa canal bordering Pathum Thani. Currently, 13 roads remain flooded and should be avoided.

On 5 Oct 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Facebook page posted the latest situation at 11:45 a.m., stating that rain is beginning to develop in central Bangkok, urging caution against thunder and gusty winds.

Today, water levels in the main canals have somewhat decreased but remain high (including Khlong Saen Saep, Khlong Prawet Burirom, and Khlong Prem Prachakorn) as they receive water from smaller canals and tributaries, with continuous efforts to drain water.

Authorities are closely monitoring potential breaches of flood barriers along the lower Khlong Hok Wa canal, bordering Pathum Thani, within Khlong Sam Wa, Nong Chok, and Sai Mai districts, due to elevated water levels.

The BMA is intensifying pumping water into the Chao Phraya River to lower water levels continuously over 24 hours, allowing water from smaller canals and tributaries to flow into the main canals (main canal levels are falling, enabling smaller canals to drain).

Flood locations can be checked at the following website:https://now.bangkok.go.th/flood-alert.htmlIn real time, as of 12:40 p.m., flooding remains on 13 roadways.
