Flooding on Ramkhamhaeng Road Inbound near Ramkhamhaeng University after Heavy Rain, Water Depth 5-10 cm

The Bang Kapi district warns residents to be alert as Khlong Saen Saep water levels reach a critical point following heavy rain. On Ramkhamhaeng Road inbound near Ramkhamhaeng University, water has accumulated 5-10 cm deep. Small vehicles can still pass but must be cautious.

On 6 Oct 2016, during the early morning hours, continuous rain fell across many areas of Bangkok starting around 01:00. This caused flooding on several roads awaiting drainage. The "Bangkok Metropolitan Administration" Facebook page forecasted that on 6 Oct, Bangkok and surrounding areas would have a 70% chance of thunderstorms with some heavy rain and strong gusts.

Meanwhile, the "Bang Kapi District Office" Facebook page posted a travel advisory for residents as follows:

  • At 07:22, on Ramkhamhaeng Road inbound in front of Ramkhamhaeng University, water has flooded the road surface about 5 to 10 centimeters deep. Small vehicles can pass but must proceed with caution.
  • At 07:46, a warning was issued to residents in Bang Kapi district due to last night's heavy rain, which has caused Khlong Saen Saep water levels to reach a critical state. This has impacted low-lying areas. Residents are advised to travel carefully. Bangkok authorities are working to drain and reduce water levels in Khlong Saen Saep.



The Lat Phrao Police Station Facebook page reported traffic conditions on 6 Oct 2016 at 07:30 that traffic on Lat Phrao and Nawamin roads was moderate and moving normally.

Rain had stopped in the area after heavy rainfall between 04:30 and 05:30.

Locations with water accumulation include:

  • Seri Thai Road inbound at Bang Kapi intersection, with water about 5–10 cm deep over approximately 20 meters. All vehicle types can still pass.
  • Bang Kapi three-way intersection, turning left from Srinakarin Road onto Lat Phrao Road, the leftmost lane has water about 5 cm deep over 20 meters, with no impact on traffic.
  • Inside Lat Phrao 130 Alley, water is about 5 cm deep. Traffic is still moving normally.

Residents are urged to exercise extra caution when driving in flooded areas, reduce speed, and maintain safe distance from the vehicle ahead for safety.

Lat Phrao Police Station is continuously facilitating traffic and ensuring public safety in the area.
