Flood Relief Application Extended in Bangkok to 30 Nov Government Housing Residents Ineligible

Governor Chatchat monitors flood relief efforts in Sai Mai, extending the application deadline for relief payments to 30 Nov. He emphasized that government housing residents are not eligible. Those who have received funds without meeting the criteria must return the money to authorities.

On 20 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Chatchat Sitthiphan, Governor of Bangkok, visited the Sai Mai District Office to follow up on flood relief applications. He inspected the queue system and document verification process after the deadline extension aimed at reducing crowding and facilitating public convenience.

Governor Chatchat stated that Bangkok has extended the flood relief application deadline to 30 Nov 2026 GMT+7, so citizens need not rush. Sai Mai District Office has adjusted its system to accommodate 1,800 applicants daily, dividing them into 1,500 by appointment and 300 walk-ins, with service hours extended to 6:00 p.m. This morning’s atmosphere was orderly with a steady flow of applicants.

To date, Sai Mai has received 86,000 applications for flood relief, with 53,000 already approved. The process has accelerated due to 10 staff screening applications on-site for completeness of information and documents. Additionally, 81 computers—supported by Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) schools—have been provided to enhance document verification efficiency.

Applicants who submitted forms on 2 or 3 October but have not yet been approved can check their status via the official LINE OA channel, as some may have submitted incorrect information requiring correction. Citizens are urged to provide truthful data; any false information will disqualify applicants from receiving relief funds under the law.

Supporting staff include Sai Mai district officials, personnel from Ratchathewi district (its buddy district), and teachers from nine BMA-affiliated schools in Sai Mai who assist during the school break period.

Regarding queue management, citizens may obtain a queue number in the morning and return later in the afternoon without losing their place. There is no need to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m. Governor Chatchat also strictly prohibited the sale of queue cards. The district office records ID numbers on the back of cards to prevent resale.

Furthermore, Governor Chatchat stressed that residents of government housing are ineligible for relief funds under the established criteria. In the Air Force housing area with 4,000 houses, over 500 applicants failed to meet qualifications. The district office has sorted these cases and provided explanations. Any person who has received funds without qualifying must return the money.
