On 30 Oct 2026, the Metropolitan Police Bureau issued a traffic advisory recommending detour routes for rehearsals of the royal procession in the royal cremation ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, scheduled for Saturday, 31 October 2026 around the Grand Palace and Sanam Luang areas.
On Saturday, 31 Oct 2026, rehearsals for royal processions 1, 2, 3, and 6 will take place from 06:30 to 19:30 around the Grand Palace and Sanam Luang in preparation for the royal cremation ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother.
To ensure safety during the rehearsals and for residents needing to travel near the Grand Palace and Sanam Luang on Saturday, 31 Oct 2026, the Metropolitan Police Bureau will deploy traffic police to manage traffic along the rehearsal routes for processions 1, 2, 3, and 6 according to each rehearsal schedule. The police will facilitate necessary travel and advise the public to review route information to plan their journeys accordingly.
Therefore, the Metropolitan Police Bureau announces rehearsal routes and recommends detour routes for the public to plan their travel on Saturday, 31 Oct 2026 as follows.
1.1 Procession 1 rehearsal from 07:00 to 09:00, route from Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall to Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) via Maharaj Road and Tai Wang Road.
1.2 Procession 2 rehearsal from 07:30 to 10:00, route from Wat Pho to Sanam Luang via Sanam Chai Road and Ratchadamnoen Nai Road.
1.3 Procession 3 rehearsal from 10:00 to 11:30, route circling the royal crematorium at Sanam Luang.
Traffic management routes for processions 1, 2, and 3 rehearsals cover 16 roads as follows.
1. Na Phra That Road 2. Lak Mueang Road 3. Maharaj Road 4. Tai Wang Road 5. Chetuphon Road 6. Setthakarn Road 7. Phiphit Road 8. Sanam Chai Road 9. Ratchadamnoen Nai Road 10. Phra Chan Road 11. Na Phra That Road 12. Na Phra Lan Road 13. Ratchini Road 14. Charoen Krung Road (from Norad Circle to Mon Bridge intersection) 15. Kalyanamitr Road 16. Soi Sarunrom.
Recommended detour routes for the public to plan travel during rehearsals of processions 1, 2, and 3.
2.1 From 14:00 to 16:00 at Ratchini Road, rehearsal route along Ratchini Road.
2.2 From 16:00 to 16:20, from Territorial Defense Command (Norad) to the Grand Palace via Sanam Chai Road and Na Phra Lan Road.
2.3 From 17:00 to 17:25, from the Grand Palace to Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Maha Simaram via Na Phra Lan Road, Kalyanamitr Road, and Atsadang Road.
2.4 From 17:45 to 18:15, from Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Maha Simaram to Wat Bowonniwet Vihara via Atsadang Road, Ratchabophit Road, Fueang Nakhon Road, Bamrung Muang Road, Kalyanamitr Road, Sanam Chai Road, Ratchadamnoen Nai Road, Ratchadamnoen Klang Road, Din So Road, and Phra Sumen Road.
2.5 From 18:30 to 19:00, from Wat Bowonniwet Vihara to the Army Headquarters via Wisut Kasat Road.
Traffic management routes for procession 6 rehearsal cover 16 roads as follows.
1. Na Phra That Road 2. Lak Mueang Road 3. Tai Wang Road 4. Sanam Chai Road 5. Ratchadamnoen Nai Road 6. Ratchadamnoen Klang Road (inbound) 7. Na Phra That Road 8. Na Phra Lan Road 9. Ratchini Road 10. Somdet Phra Pinklao Road (inbound) 11. Charoen Krung Road (from Norad Circle to Mon Bridge intersection) 12. Kalyanamitr Road 13. Soi Sarunrom 14. Din So Road 15. Phra Sumen Road 16. Atsadang Road (from Phan Phiphop intersection to Mon Bridge intersection).
