The Tourism Police Commander ordered the "Tourism Police" to mobilize simultaneously on the night of "Halloween" leading patrols along Khao San Road, meeting tourists and business operators to foster confidence in safety
On 31 Oct 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Pongsayam Meekhanthong, Commander of the Tourism Police, led his command team including Pol. Maj. Gen. Surapong Thaiprasert, Commander of Tourism Police Division 1, along with other commanders and tourism police officers, to mobilize personnel in front of Chanasongkram Police Station on Khao San Road to prevent crime, maintain public order, and ensure safety for tourists and the public during the 2026 Halloween festival.
The Tourism Police Commander instructed the tourism police to mobilize personnel to demonstrate readiness and unity in crime prevention, security, and facilitation of tourists and the public in key tourist areas nationwide, urging proactive duties to reach out to the public and tourists and provide timely assistance.
On Khao San Road, this operation integrated forces from multiple agencies totaling 95 personnel: 40 tourism police, 10 municipal officers from Phra Nakhon district, 30 officers from Chanasongkram Police Station, and 15 tourism police volunteers, jointly working to prevent crime, maintain order, facilitate convenience, and safeguard tourists and locals in the area.
After mobilization, the Tourism Police Commander led the team to patrol along Khao San Road, meeting and greeting both Thai and foreign tourists as well as local shop and entertainment venue operators to build closeness, listen to opinions, and gauge the festival atmosphere, while instructing officers to perform their duties politely, friendly, approachable, and ready to assist promptly.
This operation aligns with the National Police Chief’s policy for fiscal year 2027, focusing on earnest crime prevention and suppression, enhancing public service efficiency, and advancing community policing principles by encouraging proactive police work closely engaging with locals and business operators.
Additionally, it supports the Tourism Police Command’s policy under the concepts “One Team One Strongest for Safety Tourism,” aimed at uniting teamwork to create tourism safety, and "Your First Friend," which strives to make tourism police the first friend tourists can approach, trust, and rely on in any situation.
Tonight’s operation underscores the readiness of tourism police and partner agencies to ensure safety, build confidence and peace of mind among tourists and business operators, enabling smooth and safe travel and business during the Halloween festival. Tourism police stand ready to provide safety and facilitation 24 hours a day; assistance is available anytime via the tourism police hotline 1155.
