In Sa Kaeo, tensions have risen as villagers reported hearing intermittent artillery fire. Meanwhile, Cambodia fired BM-21 rockets into the Ban Nong Ya Kaeo area, with warnings issued strictly prohibiting residents from entering the danger zone.
At 07:30 on 13 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters covering Ta Phraya district in Sa Kaeo province stated that certain border-adjacent areas remain tense. Villagers reported hearing periodic artillery fire. However, there have been no initial reports of damage, only artillery shell craters from Cambodian fire landing in villagers’ farmland, causing damage with large holes.
The Village Security Volunteers (VSV) have deployed forces to monitor the area around the clock. Particularly last night, numerous drones were observed in the sky. Subsequently, district authorities issued warnings after detecting suicide drones entering the frontline near Ban Nong Jan on the Thai side, prompting heightened caution across Ta Phraya district and surrounding areas.
Community leaders have appealed to residents not to return to or tend their homes during this period. If entry is absolutely necessary, they are urged to keep their visit as brief as possible and return promptly to designated safe zones for their personal safety and protection of property.
Breaking reports indicate that Ban Nong Ya Kaeo was attacked with BM-21 rockets fired by Cambodian forces, escalating tensions along the border. Security officials are closely monitoring and assessing the situation.
Meanwhile, village leaders, VSV, local administration, and security forces in Ban Sub Muang continue to emphasize strict adherence to government safety directives, urging cooperation with evacuation efforts or remaining in safe areas until the situation stabilizes.
