A woman victim revealed she was sexually harassed by a monk at a famous temple in Nakhon Pathom, who whispered "beautiful breasts" during a ceremony. She confirmed she does not intend to attack the temple and still maintains her faith, stating the issue lies with the individual involved rather than the institution itself.
On 27 Jan 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted a Facebook user named "Emmika Kru Amy" posted a warning about an incident involving a close acquaintance. She explained that the victim, normally gentle and not prone to anger, was shocked and stunned by what happened, unable to respond immediately. The poster urged people to open their eyes and not be blind to such misconduct, saying they could not stay silent. She suggested that if the victim had anticipated the event, she might have set up a camera. However, if the location had surveillance that was not erased, clear evidence of the inappropriate behavior would exist. She concluded by saying belief is personal and that karma will come to those responsible, hoping the warning would benefit others.
Before sharing a video clip of the victim recounting the incident, the poster emphasized how quickly the event unfolded—within seconds—and expressed that such behavior is unacceptable.
Recently, the victim disclosed that during the ceremony, about four people were present. The monk brought a metal object to anoint her forehead for good fortune and applied gold leaf to her face. Then he grabbed her collar to pull it open wide, slipped his hand under the side of her blouse, initially thinking he might be weak due to age. However, his hand moved to the center of her chest while he anointed her and leaned in close. His other hand pushed her bra down and squeezed her breast while whispering, "Your breasts are beautiful. Has anyone ever asked to suck them?" Shocked, she quickly pulled her blouse up, feeling confused and unsure what to do. She had visited the temple three or four times before but never met this monk.
She expressed that her faith is stronger in the temple itself than in any individual. Other monks have never behaved this way. Because she deeply trusts the temple as a spiritual refuge, she had returned multiple times for ceremonies. At the latest incident, she admitted she did not protest because she was shocked and everything happened so fast. She feared that if she made a scene, people might not believe her, especially since many demand evidence. She questioned where she could obtain proof when she never expected to encounter such conduct or to have to endure it again.
She stressed that her intention is not to attack the temple, as her faith remains unchanged, but that the problem lies with the individual. There are many good monks, but unfortunately, she encountered a bad one. She has no reason to slander anyone. During the ceremony, others were present; when the monk molested her, he sent a disciple to fetch water, and her friend was sitting behind her. Additionally, there was a couple waiting their turn. Since she sat in front with the monk, she believes others may not have seen what happened.
After the ceremony, she told her friend in the car, who was shocked and said if the monk dared to do that once, it was probably not the first time. She confided in a close older friend, describing the incident as terrible and recounting how the friend joked that if it were him, he would have protested and kicked back. She emphasized she has no agenda to attack the temple and hopes relevant authorities will investigate. She is currently consulting about pursuing legal action.
