Short-Trunk Teenagers Brawl Outside Emergency Room, Fight Previously at Temple, Then Again at Hospital

A video shows short-trunk teenagers gathering to brawl outside the emergency room of Kui Buri Hospital. The conflict stemmed from a dispute over a girl. They had already fought at a temple before separating and encountering each other again at the hospital. Police have ordered legal proceedings against both sides.

The case involves the dissemination of video clips and images showing a group of people fighting outside the Kui Buri Hospital building, Moo 1, Kui Buri Subdistrict, Kui Buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, on the afternoon of 28 January 2026 at 16:55 GMT+7.

On 29 January 2026, investigative officers reported progress. After the incident, authorities quickly verified information, identified the individuals seen in the footage, and summoned them for preliminary questioning. Charges were filed against members of both groups: one led by Mr. Jakraphan (surname withheld) and the other by Mr. Chanchai (surname withheld), for "jointly assaulting others causing bodily harm."

Mrs. Wasana Jangpanich, advisor to Kui Buri Hospital, stated that the incident occurred outside the hospital building. The opposing groups arrived by vehicle and clashed before entering the service area. The hospital prioritizes the safety of patients and staff. Security personnel and staff intervened immediately and contacted the police. She confirmed that inside the building and patient service points remain secure and fully operational.

"The young person, wearing a school uniform, came for wound treatment. The emergency room completed the stitching, and then he went outside to wait for relatives. While waiting, the opposing group arrived, and upon seeing him, a scuffle broke out as shown in the video. Security guards and stretcher staff quickly intervened to help. Nursing staff locked the emergency room, which is automatically secured—entry requires fingerprint scanning—to protect patients inside. Nurses then moved patients out to avoid impacting service users and staff. The emergency room also informed the police and hospital management. Procedures were followed as planned, with management directing actions according to rehearsed protocols."

Pol. Col. Worawat Khamwong, chief of Kui Buri Police Station, said the incident began with a dispute over a girl between two youth groups: seniors who had already graduated and juniors from the area. Their first clash occurred at a local temple around 16:00 GMT+7, followed by another confrontation outside the hospital at 16:55 GMT+7. Police patrol officers quickly intervened and have ordered strict prosecution, charging both sides.

Reporters noted that during the brawl, four youths aged 17 suffered minor injuries including bruises and scratches. One individual experienced chest tightness, weakness, and fainting and was transferred to Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital. The injuries originated from the earlier temple fight. When arriving at Kui Buri Hospital for treatment, guardians from both sides assaulted students, turning it into a dispute involving adults and youths as shown in the footage.
