Residents Request Suspension of Construction for Two Factories Near Water Sources and Green-Zoned Areas

Some residents have submitted a petition requesting the suspension of construction for an asphalt and a plastic factory in Sa Phatthana Subdistrict, Kamphaeng Saen District, citing proximity to water sources and location within a green zoning area, although the factories have already been authorized by the government.

On 12 Feb 2024 GMT+7, reporters learned that several residents in Sa Phatthana Subdistrict, Kamphaeng Saen District, Nakhon Pathom Province, submitted a petition to relevant agencies requesting a halt to construction of an asphalt concrete (asphalt) factory and a plastic injection molding factory in Village No. 2, Sa Phatthana Subdistrict. The petition states that the factory sites are adjacent to public water sources shared by the community and connected to an irrigation canal, which serves as a water source for agriculture. Additionally, the area falls within a green zoning category intended for conservation and agricultural use.

However, both factories operated by the two companies mentioned have received proper permits from the Nakhon Pathom Industry Office and are currently in the process of site preparation, with no construction work started yet. Further factual updates from all parties and progress reports will be provided as information becomes available.
