Monk Rushes to Grab Fire Extinguisher, Helps Put Out Car Fire (Video)

A genuine lifesaver monk grabbed a fire extinguisher from a convenience store to help put out a car fire. Before entering the monkhood, he had completed basic emergency medical training and is part of a well-known community aid page team assisting people.

On 15 Feb 2026, a dramatic car fire broke out on Khlong 4 Liab Road, Lam Luk Ka Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province. Online users widely shared a video from the page “Want to be Famous, I'll Make It Return Part 7,” praising a monk who quickly came to extinguish the fire skillfully.

Reporters on site identified the monk as Phra Pichit Suphato, a monk from Wat Khlong Chan, Khlong 4, Lam Luk Ka. He recounted that at 6:00 a.m., while on his alms round, he heard shouts for help. He saw a car parked in front of a housing estate with fire under the vehicle. He rushed to a nearby convenience store and was given four fire extinguishers by staff, then obtained two more from the market, totaling six extinguishers. A fuel pipe leak caused the fire to spread rapidly and become uncontrollable. After getting the extinguishers, Phra Pichit instructed everyone to move away from the car for safety before contacting municipal firefighters to spray water and suppress the fire.

Phra Pichit's quick response and knowledge of using fire-fighting equipment come from his experience before ordination, having worked at a private hospital and completed EMT-B (basic emergency medical technician) training. He was also part of the public assistance team of the social media page "Pathum Must Survive."

Phra Pichit advised devotees and the public that in emergencies, maintaining "composure" is crucial. Many people freeze when seeing fire, but staying calm helps reduce damage. He also urged people to regularly check their vehicles and keep safety equipment ready in their cars.

Meanwhile, investigators from Khu Khot Police Station inspected the scene and took photos as evidence. Initially, no serious injuries were reported. Authorities will coordinate with the forensic department to investigate whether the fire was caused by the fuel system or an electrical short circuit.
