Long Queues for Diesel Fuel Overflow at Ayutthaya Gas Station, Some Wait Overnight

The diesel fuel crisis continues to have severe effects as the public and truck drivers flock to gas stations with long queues, some waiting overnight hoping to refuel and take their vehicles to work.

At 10:00 on 16 March 2026, reporters observed the atmosphere at a PTT gas station along the Asian Highway northbound at kilometer 58, Ban Wa subdistrict, Bang Pa-in district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. Numerous private cars, trailers, and 10-wheel trucks lined up long outside the station after news spread that a diesel delivery truck would arrive around 10:00.

Station staff said the fuel truck collected diesel from the depot starting at 08:00 and arrived around 10:00, delivering approximately 9,000 liters. The station allowed customers to fill without quantity limits but expected the fuel to run out within about two hours due to many people sleeping overnight in line. Failure to refuel would impact work, especially for truck drivers who rely on diesel to operate.

Somporn Pinsawang, a trailer driver transporting empty bottles for a company, revealed that diesel is very difficult to find these days and requires advance planning to refuel. Without fuel, he cannot work, which affects his income.

Last night, he parked his trailer at the station from midnight but still found no diesel. He left the vehicle there fearing it would run out mid-route, had family pick him up, and returned to queue again around 5 a.m. Today at 10:00, he was able to fill 300 liters and considered himself lucky the station did not limit fuel amounts.

Meanwhile, the diesel shortage in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province continues to affect many citizens and transport workers who have to search for stations and wait in long queues for hours.
