The Chai Nat Primary Education Office led a volunteer team comprising executives and staff from the Mueang District 1 Educational Coordination Center to restore Khao Khai, continuing the "Chai Nat Green City" concept.
On Friday, 15 May 2026, at 16:00, Mr. Nirut Khemngoen, Director of the Chai Nat Primary Education Office, assigned Lieutenant Thanachot Rairah and Mr. Somrosak Wannonam, deputy directors, to lead executives and staff from the Mueang District 1 Educational Coordination Center in the "Volunteer Power to Develop Khao Khai Forest" activity at Khao Tha Phra Subdistrict, Chai Nat Province. Associate Professor Dr. Pannarorn Wantong joined the field visit to encourage the team.
The highlight of this event was "shooting slingshots to plant trees" using seeds from various plants such as mango, durian, jackfruit, chili, tamarind, Yangna, Padu, and Intanin to disperse tree species into the difficult-to-access hillside areas. This created enjoyment and promoted participation in natural restoration.
This initiative follows the policy of Dr. Pichet Pho-phakdee, Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission, and Dr. Pichet Wantong, Deputy Secretary-General, focusing on environmental conservation and fostering a sense of hometown pride. It also continues the intellectual legacy of Mr. Sutthipong Juljaroen, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, who aimed to transform "desert hills" into "green hills."
Furthermore, the Chai Nat Primary Education Office assigned all 12 Educational Coordination Centers to rotate and conduct volunteer activities every Friday to ensure the continuity of natural resource conservation.
