The morning market in Uthai Thani is bustling as people use their rights on the first day of the "Thai Chua Thai Plus" program. Many shops have posted signs inviting customers, pointing out that joining the program has helped boost sales.
On 1 June 2026 GMT+7, reporters described the lively atmosphere on the first day of the "Thai Chua Thai Plus" program at the morning market in the commercial district of Uthai Thani municipality. Many people came out to buy food, snacks, and essential goods, resulting in continuous customer interest at participating shops, especially curry rice vendors, ready-made meals, vegetables, and fruit stalls.
Several vendors said they had previously joined government economic stimulus programs, including the co-payment scheme and now "Thai Chua Thai Plus." They acknowledged that during such assistance programs, sales clearly increased, with some shops seeing sales rise by 50 to 100 percent. This is because the programs reduce living expenses, encouraging people to spend more confidently.
However, some vendors chose not to participate, explaining that their businesses require daily cash flow, while funds from the program are transferred to accounts the next day. This caused concerns about liquidity for purchasing stock to resell.
Additionally, some shops that registered for the program had not yet put up promotional signs or symbols at their storefronts. As a result, many customers did not realize these shops accepted program benefits, which could affect customers' purchasing decisions and use of services during the program's initial phase.
