"Secretary of Bang Khun Kong Subdistrict Administrative Organization" (SAO) explains issue involving three officials "local exam cheating" scandal They are currently on authorized leave and deny any knowledge of the officials' actions.
On 25 June 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Sarawut Pimchan, Secretary of Bang Khun Kong SAO, and Mr. Namchok Kleebua, Deputy Mayor of Bang Khun Kong SAO, held a press conference regarding three officials under their jurisdiction implicated in a local exam cheating scheme. They revealed that initial investigations confirmed three officials named in the reports, including "Khun Su," a public health academic officer acting as the director of the Public Health and Environment Department. The SAO is preparing to establish a fact-finding committee to investigate all three individuals.
At present, all three are absent from work, officially on leave per civil service regulations. This may include pre-approved vacation or sick leave, which can be documented retroactively. If they return to work next week, they will be called in immediately to clarify the facts.
The officials admitted they were very surprised and did not expect it would involve their staff, as these individuals have been exemplary workers, responding quickly and effectively to help the public with no prior disciplinary issues.
When asked about allegations concerning their lifestyle and ownership of a front company holding 70% shares, Mr. Sarawut explained that neither he nor the SAO had prior knowledge of the company or shareholdings, as civil servants typically do not discuss such personal matters with management.
Regarding their lifestyle or arriving at work in luxury cars, this is a well-known fact; everyone understands they have good financial standing or pre-existing assets. It is also known that the husband, "Sergeant Phichit," had been stationed here for about 1-2 years before the official arrived. Therefore, no one suspected or suspected any involvement in corrupt activities.
When asked if there were concerns about other SAO officials being involved, Mr. Sarawut stated that following this incident, he cannot guarantee anyone else's innocence. However, the SAO will implement systems and procedures requiring other staff to affirm their integrity for thorough verification. He strongly emphasized that Bang Khun Kong SAO is not involved and affirmed the organization's innocence.
Nonetheless, he reaffirmed that Bang Khun Kong SAO has no involvement or knowledge of the officials' misconduct. This is considered an individual act. The organization is willing and ready to fully cooperate with any external agencies conducting investigations. Should the investigation conclude guilt, the SAO will enforce strict disciplinary, criminal, and civil penalties according to the law.
